Hobbs Man Accused of Killing Wife, Burying Body in Yard 7/30/10

Hobbs Police Statement
At approximately 7:30 am today, Hobbs Police received a report of a missing person. Patsy Davis had not been seen since approximately 5:00 pm on July 29, 2010. She was reported to have last been traveling to her estranged husband, Eric Davis’s residence, located at 2505 W Midwest. At approximately the same time Patsy Davis’s vehicle was located parked near a business on West Marland Blvd
in Hobbs, but there was no sign of Patsy.
Officers and Detectives of the Hobbs Police Department contacted Eric Davis at his residence. Detectives noticed signs of foul play at the residence and Eric Davis later admitted to killing Patsy Davis and burying her body outside of the City of Hobbs. Patsy’s body has been located and will be sent to the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque for an autopsy.
Eric Davis has been arrested for Kidnapping, Murder, and Tampering with Evidence. He is currently being held in the Hobbs City Jail on a one and half million dollar bond.
This investigation is still on going at the time of this release.
