PECOS - The City of Pecos has been dealing with a trash overload problem.

During last night's city council meeting city officials talked about how the landfill is exceeding the maximum allowed tons of type one trash, which is your household trash.

State law limits dumping of type one trash in a landfill to 20 tons per day, and the city is doing well over that.

Council made some recommendations to solve the problem.

One possible solution is to increase trash fees in order to raise enough money to be build an additional landfill.

Mayor Venetta Seals says nothing is set in stone and they will continue the discussion during their next city council meeting.
